Here we have a sublime late 1990s specimen of the almighty, indomitable Sleep. Sleepβs Holy Mountain may just be our favourite Sleep release. For the uninitiated, Sleep took that Sabbath, sound amplified it to 11, distorted it to 12 and slowed it down to an unrelenting steamroller of sound. Thus they gave birth to the Stoner Doom sound. Or just another chapter in heavy music, written in blood.
