Converge are among the most exciting bands to emerge of the 1990s and were formative in catalysing a genre of metallic-infused blend of hardcore that brought intense grind, speed and ferocity to the genre. Since kicking the doors open of the scene their singer Jacob Bannon founded the label Deathwish which itself became a breeding ground for a whole generation of hardcore bands - both new (Rise and Fall, Modern Life is War) and old (Ringworm, Integrity, etc.)
