Anathema were one of the Peaceville three - alongside Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride, named so because of their affiliation with Peaceville records and the triumvirate of doom metal considered as the progenitors of the genre. Serenades is their debut LP and the epitome of dark, sludgy, beautiful menacing sound that many others seek to emulate but few achieve.
What tops this shirt is the design - really beautiful front image of a mummified woman holding an animal skull and the abstract shot of the band’s legs on the back. Goth personified.
